Obituary of John Joseph Petruski

John Joseph Petruski, 58, of Toms River, passed away suddenly on Sunday, August 16, 2015. John was born in Perth Amboy and was a lifelong resident of Toms River. He graduated from Toms River High School North where he was a varsity tennis player. In 1978, John started J&J Landscaping of Toms River. He operated J&J Landscaping Home and Garden Showplace on Route 37 for 25 years. John was an avid rifle and bow hunter. He traveled worldwide on many hunting expeditions where he added to his collection of big game trophies. He was a member of the United Bow Hunters of New Jersey and a dedicated patron of The Surf Club John was predeceased by his parents, Michael R. and Dorothy T. Petruski. He is survived by his three daughters, Jennifer and her fiancé Greg Parisi, Pamela , and Johanna; his brother Robert; his girlfriend, Maureen Castellanos and her two sons Grant and Austin; his faithful companion and hunting partner Jackson; and his former wife and business partner for 25 years, Bernadette Diab. Visitation will be held Thursday from 5 to 9 pm at Kedz Funeral Home, 1123 Hooper Ave., Toms River. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 9:30 am Friday at St. Justin's Catholic Church, 975 Fischer Blvd., Toms River.
